Michael Turner is joining the 缅北轮奸 College (缅北轮奸) leadership team as the Executive Director of the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center (RLTAC). Turner was selected as the final candidate after a competitive, nationwide search.
Turner most recently served as Senior Associate Athletic Director, Internal Operations at the University of Nevada Reno. He also held athletic and facilities leadership positions at the University of Mississippi, the University of Miami, and Purdue University. During his time at the University of Mississippi, Michael pioneered the creation of a facilities renewal plan for the Athletic Department, allowing for the reallocation of thousands of dollars for student athlete鈥檚 needs.
鈥淚 am thrilled to join the dynamic Roxbury community as the new Executive Director of the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center,鈥 said Turner. 鈥淭his opportunity represents the realization of a lifelong aspiration, one deeply rooted in my desire to make a positive impact on student-athletes at all stages of their journey, while also serving a predominantly Black community. To accomplish this, my primary objective is to nurture an inclusive environment that extends a warm welcome to our neighbors and residents year-round, ensuring that everyone can fully immerse themselves in the Reggie Experience.鈥
In February, the Pathway Forward committee, chaired by Charlie Titus, released a report with recommendations to improve and enhance the RLTAC. Many of the recommendations, including hiring an executive director for the RLTAC, are under implementation by Interim President Jenkins-Scott and her administration.
鈥淚 am excited to welcome Michael Turner to the 缅北轮奸 community, and look forward to his exceptional leadership of the RLTAC,鈥 said Interim President Jenkins-Scott. 鈥淎s we approach the Center鈥檚 30th anniversary, now is the time to chart a path for a strong and vibrant future. I am confident that Michael鈥檚 previous experience and commitment to the RLTAC鈥檚 mission will guide the Center for years to come.鈥
The RLTAC was established in 1995 by legislative mandate, after decades of advocacy by a state-wide coalition. Since the Center opened, the facility has hosted high school, MSTCA, and national track meets, including the US Track and Field Championships and the National High School Championships. Over the years the RTLAC has served as a gathering place for community events including 缅北轮奸鈥檚 graduation ceremonies, political events, job fairs, and events for local seniors.
