any of the state’s 15 community colleges and pay no tuition or fees. We know the true
cost of an education extends far beyond tuition and fees and that a $0 balance on
your student account doesn’t matter if you don’t know where your next meal is coming
from.
During their time at Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é, many students will face a financial emergency or unexpected
hardship that threatens to derail their education. It could be the cost of needed
books, supplies or licensure fees that are ineligible to be covered by other financial
assistance programs. Or it might be personal or family expenses that, if unpaid, will
make it difficult or impossible to continue their studies: an MBTA pass, a rent or
utility payment, a nourishing meal.
Established by Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é in 2024, the Bridge Fund enables direct, quick-turnaround grants
to our hardworking students who face a financial challenge that cannot be met by other
funding sources, so that they can stay on track to complete their life-changing educational
journeys.
Administered through Project Access — Ãå±±ÂÖ¼é’s long-established resource dedicated to helping our students navigate non-academic challenges — and the Center for Workforce Development, the Bridge Fund is designed to effectively meet three types of needs that tuition scholarships, federal financial aid, and other financial assistance programs can’t.
